There was an incident a while back where I was sat in Manchester’s finest late night drinking hole, Big Hands, and Oh Mandy by the Spinto Band came on. Through the haze of some of Belgium’s strongest beers I declared it ‘The best song ever written’. I wasn’t even sure if I was joking. Then ‘This Charming Man’ by The Smiths came on and I looked a bit stupid. Fair play to the Spinto’s though because they are a cracking band and they also know how to pick some fantastic support bands.
Take tonight as a good example. The kindly folk of Manchester wise enough to have planned to go and see them play at the Night N Day will always be rewarded to see the magnificent Dutch Uncles who are fine young men with a load of great songs.  Their MySpace is also well worth checking out to see their video which was made by the same man who has just completed The Answering Machine’s video for Cliffer.

Props also to the Spinto Band for also choosing LoveLikeFire to play with them in San Francisco on March 25th. Our favourite Americans will be fresh back from their trip to SXSW and are stoked to have been asked to join the bill alongside Maps and Atlases who also happen to be ace. What a show. I will make sure we get some pictures up from the show.
