October 2nd, 2009
Ah autumn time is my favourite time of the year. No longer will my pasty white skin be subject to potential sun burn because I have left the house for five minutes. Time to pick out a big winter coat because before long the Xmas market will be in Manchester city centre and my yearly addiction to Mulled Wine can begin
This is also the best time of the year because we take music back where it belongs – sweaty smelly rooms rather than big fields full of idiots. I like a festival sure but really I want a warm can of red stripe and a support band so average you want to cry.
Tonight our dear lovely friends LoveLikeFire wrap up their UK tour with a show at Cargo in London. They have travelled all over the country and made lots of new friends and fans on the way. Selling many a copy of the wondrous Tear Ourselves Away album which all of us at Heist adore.
No time to rest though in post tour blues as The Answering Machine then proceed to hit the road for some UK dates which are all on the news page of this here website. Give them a look and then get involved. The support for the tour comes from some amazing people to.
Driver Drive Faster for the most part with
The Crookes and
Lo Fi Culture Scene helping out too. After that the lucky souls of America are getting some TAM love but more of that soon.
This week has also seen my venture out of my flat for some great great gigs. Firstly on Monday I got to watch The Crookes who are lovely chaps and making some really fantastic tunes. Run Toto Run and Ellie Goulding were also on the bill and are both destined to be names you hear lots more from. Tuesday was probably the finest
Noah and the Whale gig I have ever seen. And rest assured readers I have a lot of Noah gigs under my ever expanding belt. Finally last night was the chance to see local brilliance from Dutch Uncles and then friend of Heist and all round good guy
James Yuill played an amazing support slot for Zero 7.
Before I go you should, anyone in Manchester and possibly further afield should check out the new
Pull Yourself Together fanzine as I have written some words for them. Plus there’s stuff about their amazing John Peel gig coming up annnnnnd a Los Campesinos! interview. You lucky lucky people.
Cheers
Heist Or Hit.
